A rip roaring evening of traditional music and song from BC's best Celtic exponents. This is a rare opportunity to hear three talented musician bring their unique styles to the stage.   

The Trincomali Folk Club is excited to celebrate Celtic WinterFest in the newly renovated Beaver Point Hall, one of Salt Spring's gems.

Whether you're a musician, or just like listening, this 5-hour retreat will delight, entertain and inform. We'll take you on a musical journey around the Celtic lands with dynamic and interactive demonstrations, performances and workshops. Specialized classes in guitar, fiddle and concertina.

Pierre Schryer - Fiddle, Foot Percussion

Pierre is one of Canada’s leading traditional fiddlers and a North American Irish Fiddle Champion. JUNO and Canadian Folk Music Award nominee. A celebrated performer and producer. 

A recipient of numerous international titles and awards, Pierre truly captivates an audience with his energy and genuine warmth.

Pierre has shared the stage with such luminaries as Natalie McMaster, the Barra MacNeils, Ashley MacIssac, Liz Carroll, La Bottine Souriante, Altan, Old Blind Dogs, Chieftains. He has performed with numerous symphony orchestras across Canada with his acclaimed Symphony Pops show.

Pierre was the creator and artistic director of “Canadian Celtic Celebration”. Dedicated to passing on the tradition, Pierre teaches at numerous fiddle camps and is committed to creating community through traditional music sessions wherever he resides. 

Michaela Cunningham - Concertina and Tin Whistle

Michaela is one of the most exciting exponents of traditional Irish music in North America. Her virtuoso concertina playing is recognized internationally. She lights up any stage with her dynamic musicianship and warm personality.

She has played with many of the greatest Irish traditional musicians of our generation. Michaela is a respected teacher of Irish traditional music. 


Andy Hillhouse - Guitar, Tenor Banjo, Voice

Since the early 1990s. Andy has had a varied career in music. He has been a touring bandleader in the Anglo-Celtic music world, a choral director, a music and culture scholar, and now a festival organizer. As a musician he toured North America and Europe through the 1990s as founder and manager of the folk rock/funk band Mad Pudding.
Since 2000 he has toured with several of the Celtic music scene’s most respected and exciting acoustic musicians, .He is the Artistic and Executive Director of the Harrison Festival of the Arts. Andy is also a respected teacher and workshop facilitator, and has taught Celtic guitar backup and vocal workshops at numerous Camps and Retreats. He is former director of the Universal Gospel Choir, the Sarah McLachlan Music Outreach Choir.
